Pann-Thelas of US

Me and my freinds were always BIG Shaukin's of Pan. After couple of Drinks and a full Saoji meal, what else you need?? It's a No Brainer for a Nagpurian.. He needs a Nice Pann..

Now its very easy to get a nice Pann in Nagpur. You can always go to your usual pann tapri and tell RameshBhau , "Chutney-Chaman, 120" and he knows what kind of bettle (Supari) to put for you. If its little late in the night, you can always go to Lokmat Chauk.. If it goes past midnight, then you can always bank on Tarun Bharat Chauk.. I will stretch it a little more. if its wee hours you can always go to Mate Chauk or last resort Railway Station.

Well, all said and done you are still missing Pann in US.

So, what we did is we started a mission to know all the Pann-Thela's in cities of US. That's what you need after you had a nice meal in a Desi Restaurant.
For now we were able to find atleast in the Metro's, but anyone can jump in and add the pann thela he/she is aware about in this posting.

As i am from LA, i will add the first entry from LA. You can get your Pann done the way you want at Jalaram market in Artesia.
LA (Jalaram Market) -- (188813 Poineer Blvd., Artesia, CA, 90701).
Atlanta (Super Bombay Bazaar) - (2201 Lawrenceville Hwy, Decatur, GA)
Atlanta (Global Mall, Norcross) - 5675 Jimmy Carter Blvd, Norcross, GA 30071
So, Pann ke Shaukeen start pouring the Thelas you know..

I agree to the fact that, Paan is the most imperative part of Nagpurian’s whether they are living in India or abroad. But more than ever for those who live outside of India and it’s more enticing after having few dinks and nice food.

We just had Christmas party last Friday and went to one of nice Indian restaurant called “Mansoon Poon”. I still remember, they had written “Aacha Khana Aachi Zindagi” on the wall but thought to amend a little bit... “Aacha Khana, Mast Paan, Aachi Zindagi”.

As far as Pan-Thelas in New Zealand is concern its quite difficult due to stern regulations. But recently one of Indian store called “Spice Rack” he started importing crushed paan. Same as “masala paan” but in crushed condition.

I am happy with that, whatever I have as, something is better than nothing. But still miss the feeling of having the whole paan.
